Actin Time 2016: New Training Matrix

Having previously worked at a company that used ActIn Time, when I joined Acme Facilities Group Ltd I really wanted to introduce the system to them so that they could benefit from it too. At the time we had over 150 employees and 3 office locations and now with the acquisition of a fabrication company and a catering maintenance company we have even more employees with a large part of our workforce out on the road, therefore it was imperative that we have an easy to use system for managing the workforce.

ActIn Time was a clear choice because we could use the same terminals at all of our offices and have the data feedback to one central location for payroll purposes, HR and even Fire Roll Call. We were also able to design our own mobile app that integrates into the system and customise our touchscreen terminals to fit our requirements and show our company logo.

The install was carried out over four days and included two days of thorough training for key staff. Since the install the support team have been excellent at ironing out any teething problems and are always on hand to help with any queries we may have.

Overall we are very happy with the system and would definitely recommend it to anyone looking for an effective workforce management system, be it just payroll, HR or more.

Sneak Preview: Asset Management

A little inside scope of what's new to come!

The Asset Management can be used for monitoring service logs for machinery, recording hazardous waste consignment notes, or quite simply, monitoring small bits of equipment that have been handed out to employee's like company phones and tablets. With the development of Smart Booking as well, linking the terminals to the Asset Management could be quite an interesting feature to use. For example, preventing employees from turning on machinery unless they have the qualifications to use it!

Yet Another Attendance Adjustment Improvement!

After many requests from Customers regarding the visibility of clockings on the Adjustments Screen, we've finally introduced the ability to be able to see multiple clockings throughout the day on the main Attendance screen.

Simply by expanding the Booking(s) column you will be able to see more.

This feature will be apart of ActIn Time 2016 when it is released late this year.


Booking Process Speed Increased

Time needed to make adjustment bookings has decreased!

Another ergonomic improvement, this time when adjusting missed bookings. The development team have improved the process by reducing the amount of mouse clicks needed and greatly improving speed! This new feature is scheduled for release in November with the launch of ActIn Time 2016.


Improvements to the Adjustments Screen

The development team have listened to feedback from the user groups and modified the way the Tab key works when moving around the Attendance Adjustments screen. Users familiar with Excel will find this new method far quicker with less mouse-clicks. This new feature is scheduled for release in November with the launch of ActIn Time 2016.

ActIn Time now ready for New Parental Leave Legislation

ActIn Time users please note that ActIn Time 2015 now supports the updated rules for Parental Leave which is due to be introduced in April 2015.

Key points are:

  • Employees must have completed one year's service with an employer to qualify.
  • 18 weeks of unpaid leave can be taken up to the child's eighteenth birthday with no more than 4 weeks per taken per year.
  • Leave may be taken straight after the birth or adoption or following a period of maternity leave.
  • Employees will need to request leave giving at least 21 days’ notice before the intended start date.
  • Employers may ask for the notice to be in writing.

Wisegrove reacts to recent Holiday Pay Ruling

ActIn Time users please note that ActIn Time 2015 now supports the modified overtime calculation method specified in the updated ACAS guide to calculating holiday pay.

Three methods are supported by ActIn Time:

  • Overtime calculation adjustments are made in real time and reflected in the 'Adjustments' screen.
  • Overtime calculation adjustments are made during the 'export to payroll' procedure
  • Overtime calculation adjustments are completed by company payroll system.

Case Study: BCQ Group

BCQ Group began life as Busiprint in 1976. The company was based on Well Street in central Buckingham (where they still have a shop of the same name today), providing reprographic and print farming to its customers.

From here the company grew and expanded to become BCQ Group as it is known today. Their litho printing facility of only Heidelberg presses provides a comprehensive selection of machinery capable of printing from single to six colours in one pass

We first started looking for a workforce management system because as the company expanded we found that using standard clocking cards was no longer working. We have over 20 shift patterns and some of them quite complex so we needed a system that was going to be sophisticated enough to cope with this but also easy to use.

An ActIn Time representative came out to us to demo the system for myself and the head of HR. We were extremely impressed with the representative's knowledge and the way the system worked. Once we decided to go ahead, the install took two days and included full installation of the software and hardware and thorough training on using the system for key staff. We now have the system installed at each of our sites with the data feeding back to a central location for payroll. We have been with ActIn Time for some time now and regularly upgraded to the latest version.

We have found their technical support team to be second to none; they are extremely helpful, very knowledgable about the system and are always able to help us when we come across the occasional issue. ActIn Time has suited our companies' needs perfectly and we would recommend them without a doubt.

ActIn Time 2015 has been Launched

It's that time of year again! It's January and time to celebrate the launch of our latest version of the UK's leading mid-range workforce management system, ActIn Time 2015.

This year we are proud to announce three major developments: Dashboards (for clear graphic display of key data), ESS (Employee Self Service on any browser platform) and TWC (The Web Client features for the mobile manager).
