Time and attendance, can be grouped into two categories: electronic/mechanical clocking in machines, these rely on a piece of card which the machine will then print the time/date onto. Some Intelligent machines can remember which card was used, and calculate the time worked between the in and out swipes.
All these machines give an accurate record of when an employee comes to and leaves work.
The second type of time and attendance system is the pc-linked system.
These connect through software to a pc, (usually running windows) these reduce the labour time needed to calculate payroll, as well as being an accurate record for time and attendance.
